Mike Ference is a Partner at S-3 Public Affairs. Ference joined S-3 after a career in government service, spanning the course of two decades. For more than ten years, Ference worked for the highest levels of Congressional Republican leadership in both the House and Senate, most recently as Director of Strategic Development and Senior Policy Advisor to the House Republican Majority Leader [Eric Cantor].
During Ference’s tenure on Capitol Hill he led the national policy efforts and outreach for issues including entrepreneurial business, banking, financial services, high-tech, energy and environment, and telecommunications. Additionally, Ference managed committee activity for the leadership team, built coalitions around legislative initiatives, and steered legislative priorities through Congress, including the Jobs Act.
Prior to joining the House Whip team with now Senator Roy Blunt of Missouri in 2006, Ference served as a legislative staff member for Senator James M. Inhofe of Oklahoma. He began his tenure on Capitol Hill as an aide for Congressman Chris Smith of New Jersey. Shortly after leaving Capitol Hill, Ference was selected by The Hill as a member of the ‘Top Lobbyist’ list in both 2015 and 2016.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Ference also successfully started, owned, and operated a small energy company between his time on Capitol Hill. He is a graduate of St. Joseph’s University.
